December Commentary
AlphOmega
is releasing this months its version 5.0 of the product. This version
features a simpler expert with commentary. The expert displays only
entry and exit signals for ranges of 1% to 34% of price
retracement.
The usual colors are used to display the trend (through the use
of CCI). Agreement between the explorer, the system tester and the
expert has been achieved on the signals even if different modules
are used. This expert is for traders who must have a quick screen
response; the overhead of the expert is much lower than the others.
The symbols used are more explicit, showing the addressed sensitivity,
the type of entry or exit. The inner workings are the same as the
normal volatility expert; the way of using it is a bit different
as you have to set the sensitivity you want to trade. To know what
sensitivity you should use, switch to the regular expert, check
the sensitivity of the waves that are good trades and use it in
the new expert. Now you can monitor your trades, watch for signals
in intraday and place your exit. A commentary (the same you get
with the Simple template) can be displayed if the situation gets
too complicated.

With the new expert, we have released an exploration and a system
tester that monitor only impulses. The exploration has a new
feature, it is using a global variable to filter securities that
have not been updated in your last download. This way you avoid
entering a trade on an old signal, even if only one bar older. The
global variable needs to be updated daily by the user and the update
is a bit cumbersome. Going through the Indicator Builder™, you edit
the AO GDate entering the last date of data you downloaded. This
global variable is then used by the Explorer™ to filter out all that
do not have this latest bar. While it makes the exploration a bit
slower, it provides accurate signals and prevents entering a trade
one day too late. To alert the user that the variable must be
updated, an asterisk has been added to the name of the exploration.
The Enhanced System Tester™ now gives identical signals (providing
the trade setup is the same) to the Explorer™. Because there is a
difference in the space allowed for formulas, at times different
formulas were used to achieve a similar result. Similar was not
identical and it poorly reflected on the set's accuracy.
